My journey with PCOS

STORY TIME:

It was June of 2018 when we're planning to have a second child, I stopped using pills and then came 3 months PT was still negative, dumami ang pimples ko sa chin part and I'm still gaining weight kahit regular ang exercise routine ko. Ayun na, we go to our OBgyne. I had my TVS, blood test, and pap smear. All test came normal pero yung sa TVS they found out na both of my ovaries has PCOS. The doctor said to have an active lifestyle, eat healthily and exercise regularly.
Early signs ng PCOS are irregular periods or no periods at all pero may iba na regular ang menstruation. Difficult of getting pregnant and failure to ovulate. Excessive hair growth, example is yung nagkakaroon ka bigla ng bigote. Weight gain, ito madaming dumanas ng gantong symptoms. Oily skin and pimples, lalo na sa bandang baba.

I started a low carb diet and 15 to 20 minutes cardio and core exercise every day. I switch to brown rice from white rice for 2 months and to black from brown rice to no rice at all. My weight before I started this routine was 100 kilos. Yes, 100 kilos! Nakakaloka diba? HAHAHA. Now I'm 88 kilos and currently on Intermittent Fasting 16/8 or IF. Feeding time is 8 hours and 16 hours for fasting. I start eating by 10 AM to 6 PM or 1 PM to 9 PM. For 5 months I just lost 12 kilos, yes mabagal kasi hindi madali magpapayat kapag may PCOS ka. Ang dahilan kung bakit eh dahil ang iyong insulin levels are constantly high sabayan pa ng pagtaas ng androgens levels mo at slow thyroid na dahilan ng pagbagal ng metabolism mo.

Ang advice ko lang na pinaka-magandang routine na gawin niyo ay ang low carb eating, cardio and core exercise, bakit may kasamang core? kasi karamihan sa may mga PCOS nagiging pear-shaped yung tummy part o nagmumukhang buntis kahit hindi naman. And try niyo din ang Intermittent fasting while doing that routine.

Para naman sa mga taong kapag nakakita ng mga matataba please lang wag niyo naman sabihan na napabayaan na sa kusina, ang lakas mo ata kumain, kakain ka nanaman. Bes, yung iba ginugutom na sarili nila para pumayat lang. Sa mga hindi pa nagkakaanak at matagal nang trying to conceive wag din naman natin sabihan na naunahan ka na ni ano, kelan ka pa ba magkakaroon?, si ano ilan na anak ikaw wala pa, wala ka pa din bang anak si ano ilan na, baog ka ba. Huwag po sana tayo maging insensitive kasi mamaya pala may underlying condition bakit ganoon.
Hanggang ngayon, wala pa ding gamot sa PCOS at ano ang root cause kung bakit nagkakaroon nito pero maging determinado tayo ito and maging positive sa lahat ng bagay. Baby dust to all!
